Don't Be Misled

One Size Fits All... or not

It has taken me a while to write this blog, as I sat with the best way to approach the topic.

Wellness is a revolutionary perspective. If you look back over the years you’ll notice different trends.

A few months ago I posted in a group that advocated natural views. I quickly found out that the group admin/moderators didn’t ALLOW discussion if it didn’t align with their nutrition beliefs. Their nutrition stance was ‘irrefutable’.

I’ll be the first to tell you that nutrition is not one size fits all.
What works for you, may or may not work for someone else.

I’m here to educate. I accept discussion and a difference of opinions. What‘s interesting is the nutrition views that said moderators believe, is one that I used to follow.

Growth and a willingness to learn allowed me to find a better nutritional fit for my family and I.

Here are some factors that I considered…

When looking at nutrition & overall wellness among a group of people, look at the average lifespan.

👉🏼 People lived shorter lives.
The nutrients during the time were much different.
Nutrients were much more plentiful than what we find today.

👉🏼 Some cultures studied only consumed meat once per week, NOT daily.
Supplementation now occurs at various stages; the earth, animals and plants.
The majority of people in the world will need to supplement.
They are not receiving the quality of food that was once available, and is now depleted.

👉🏼 Traditional cultures did not live how we live today.
Think about the differences between the studies conducted during the early 1900s vs today.
What is your definition of a thriving culture?
Are short life expectancies, infant mortality and malnutrition accounted for?
What about atherosclerosis?
Not much information existed on it years ago. Lactose intolerance was not observed.

Diets today appeal emotionally, I get it.

Can you ignore the fact that saturated fat raises cholesterol LDL?

What about taurine, carnitine and carnosine? According to Dr. Greger, “humans produce all these compounds on their own—unless they have some rare genetic inborn error of metabolism birth defect.”

I’ve covered the surface, please research and ask questions
